Physicians

Dr. Tidence Prince

Ty Prince, MD, is a Board Certified Allergist and Immunologist in Maryville and Knoxville, Tennessee. With deep roots in Knoxville, Maryville, and East Tennessee, Dr. Prince has dedicated his career to serving his community and improving the quality of life for his patients. His guiding philosophy is simple: always put patients first. Whether treating adults, adolescents, or children, Dr. Prince is committed to personalized care that prioritizes the unique needs of each individual. Dr. Prince earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis and completed his residency at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. He further specialized with a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. With expertise in allergies, asthma, and primary immune deficiency diseases, Dr. Prince has extensive experience treating complex cases. His approach combines his advanced clinical skills with his desire to improve East Tennesseeans well-being. Dr. Prince is a fellow of both the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. He has served in multiple roles for the Tennessee Society of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (TSAAI), including president and treasurer.

Dr. Megan Stauffer

Megan Stauffer, MD is a Board Certified Allergist/Immunologist serving Middle Tennessee, with offices in Mount Juliet, Dickson and Clarksville. She has a passion for caring for patients of all ages with conditions such as asthma, allergies, food allergies, chronic sinusitis, eczema and primary immune deficiency.  Dr. Stauffer has been compassionately serving patients in Middle Tennessee for the past 18 years.

She completed her medical training at Eastern Virginia Medical School where she received the Pediatrics award and was a member of the academic honor society Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA). Her Pediatrics Residency took place at Johns Hopkins Children’s Hospital and she then went on to complete an Allergy/Immunology Fellowship at The Medical College of Georgia. 

She is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI), as well as the College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) and has served on the Board of the Tennessee Society of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (TSAAI).

Outside of work Dr. Stauffer enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children. She is an active member of Woodmont Christian Church, where her husband serves as the Senior Minister. 

Dr. Travis Cain

W. Travis Cain, MD is a Board Certified Allergist and Immunologist in Middle Tennessee, including Mt. Juliet and Cookeville. He has been in practice for over 20 years and sees both adult and pediatric patients. Dr. Cain received his Bachelors degree from Texas Tech University as well as a Masters degree in immunology. He then attended St. George’s University school of medicine where he earned his medical degree. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey, and then finished his education with a Fellowship in Allergy and Immunology from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.

Dr. Cain is a Fellow of the American College of Allergy Asthma Immunology and the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology. He moved to Nashville in 2004 where he and his family reside. Dr. Cain feels that one of the most important aspects of medicine is connecting with the patient, identifying their specific medical concerns, and providing an excellent plan of care that is individualized for that person. “Treat everyone like you would treat your own grandmother.”

Dr. Jane Choi

Jane Choi, MD is a board-certified allergist and immunologist who has been caring for patients since 2002. Her passion is providing her patients with compassionate, excellent, up-to-date diagnosis and treatment as a team with her staff. She enjoys partnering with patients of all ages from pediatric to geriatric who may be suffering from a spectrum of diseases including severe seasonal allergies, allergic asthma, eczema and sinus disease to help improve their quality of life. 

Dr. Choi grew up in Franklin and then Clarksville, Tennessee. She studied Biophysics at Johns Hopkins University. She earned her medical degree from Vanderbilt University Medical School then completed her residency in Internal Medicine in the Osler Program of Johns Hopkins Hospital where she was asked to be a chief resident of her program. She remained at Johns Hopkins to complete her fellowship in Allergy and Immunology and had a research focus on skin reactions from drug allergies. 

She was an Assistant Professor of Allergy and Immunology at Vanderbilt University where she immensely enjoyed teaching residents and allergy fellows and was voted “Best Resident Teacher”. She has been in private practice in a variety of settings from Paris, France to Baltimore, MD and for the past 9 years in both of her childhood hometowns of Franklin and Clarksville, TN. 

Dr. Choi and her husband have 3 older children and 2 dogs. She enjoys fitness activities and time with her family and church community. 

Dr. W. Scout Robinson

W. Scout Robinson, MD is a Board Certified Allergist/Immunologist, practicing in East Tennessee since 2011. He enjoys treating both pediatric and adult patients, and thoroughly enjoys getting to know his patients of all ages. “It’s an absolute blast to see 2 and 3 generations of the same family…sometimes in the same day!”

Dr. Robinson grew up in Chattanooga, TN, and attended UT Knoxville, where he enjoyed cheering on the Vols, playing lots of Ultimate Frisbee, and volunteering with Young Life. After college, he completed a 2-year internship with Young Life in Nashville, then worked in a lab at Vanderbilt Medical Center conducting medical research, where his interest in the field of Asthma and Immunology was sparked. He moved to Memphis to attend The University of Tennessee Medical School, and then completed his Pediatric Residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. He returned to Memphis for an Allergy/Immunology fellowship at UT, working in a hospital and lab where he had previously completed research in the areas of Asthma and Immunology. In his current practice, he enjoys walking alongside patients and developing individualized treatment
plans.

His claim to fame is his wonderful wife, Rebecca, and their 3 children. They spend a lot of time following their various sports of distance running, volleyball, and soccer, and are actively involved in their community and home church. In his free time Dr. Robinson enjoys hiking, distance running, soccer, and great conversation over Waffle House breakfasts with friends and family.

Nurse Practitioners

Brittany Harper, FNP-C

Brittany is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a passion for providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Originally from Russellville, KY, she earned her BSN from Western Kentucky University before spending seven years as an RN at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in the cardiac step-down unit. She later obtained her MSN from Tennessee Tech University, advancing her career to become an FNP.

She enjoys caring for patients of all ages with a wide range of diagnoses, helping them achieve their best health. Outside of work, Brittany loves staying active, cooking, and exploring new restaurants in Nashville.

Craig Montgomery, FNP-C

Craig is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who has been in allergy/immunology practice for over 18 years, all with Dr. Prince, after working in a primary care setting for over 6 years. He believes strongly that listening is among the most important skills a healthcare provider can possess and he greatly enjoys getting to know his patients.
 
He grew up in a military family and moved around frequently as a child, spending time in New Jersey, Hawaii, Texas, then New Jersey again, before his family settled in Northern Virginia for 12 years. He played golf at Virginia Tech where reality set in that his dream of a career in professional golf would never be realized. After graduating from there in 1989 with a BS in biochemistry, he moved to Knoxville and began work as a chemist at ORNL. After seven years of that, he decided on a major career change and entered UT’s nurse practitioner program. While at UT, he continued his chemistry work part-time before graduating with his MSN in 2000.
 
In his free time, Craig enjoys spending time with his wife of 33 years. They have two grown children, a son and daughter. He also enjoys sports (especially SEC football), playing golf with friends, and travel.

Paula Sparkman, FNP-C

Paula is a board certified family nurse practitioner. She graduated from The University of Tennessee with a Bachelors degree in Biology. She then received an MBA in both finance and marketing, and a Master’s in Nursing in 1995. Paula worked in primary care for five years and then started in allergy in 2001. Over the last 24 years she has been working with Dr. Prince.

Paula loves spending time with family and friends, reading and dogs! She has lived in Knoxville her whole life and is an avid UT fan, GBO! She has two grown boys, one in medical school and one who is a senior at UT, Knoxville majoring in business! She has been married to her husband Mark for 30 years.
